No system based on perpetual growth can survive indefinitely in a finite universe. This statement is undeniably true. And civilization is just such a system. This is proven and detailed quite sufficiently elsewhere and will not be dealt with here. Here we will deal with the far less certain, far more interesting, and far more important question of “how?”
